			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p align="center"><span style="font-family: 'Times New Roman';"><strong><span style="text-decoration: underline;">BIO-DATA OF ALHAJI ALIYU SALEH BAGARE, </span><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><em>(TURAKIN TIKAU),</em> THE DEPUTY GOVERNOR OF YOBE STATE</span></strong></span></p>
<p align="justify"><span style="font-family: 'Times New Roman';"> His Excellency the Deputy Governor of Yobe States, Alhaji Aliyu Saleh Bagare, the Turaki of Tikau, was born in Kaduwa village of Nangere Local Government Area of Yobe State, on 15<sup>th</sup> September 1952.</span></p>
<p align="justify"><span style="font-family: 'Times New Roman';"> He attended St. Paul’s Primary School Potiskum from 1966 to 1972. He proceeded to Government Teacher’s College Potiskum from 1973 to 1977 where he obtained Grade II Certificate. He also proceeded to Ahmadu Bello University Zaria from 1979 to 1981 for a Diploma course in Accounting.</span></p>
<p align="justify"><span style="font-family: 'Times New Roman';"> He was a class teacher in Fika Local Government Education Department from January to May 1978. He joined the services of Bank as a Counter clerk from 1978 to 1979.</span></p>
<p align="center"><span style="font-family: 'Times New Roman';"> He was the Assistant Executive Officer Account in Borno State Government from August 1981 to March, 1982. He was also the Acting Bursar in the Borno State College of Legal and Islamic studies Maiduguri from April 1982 to May 1989. He was a Senior Accountant when Yobe State was created and deployed as Acting Chief Accountant.</span></p>
<p align="justify"><span style="font-family: 'Times New Roman';"> He was the director of finance and supply in the Yobe state ministry of works, housing and transport. Damaturu before he retired from service of Yobe State government to join active politics in 1998.</span></p>
<p align="justify"><span style="font-family: 'Times New Roman';"> Countries visited by His Excellency the Deputy Governor include: Saudi Arabia among others.</span></p>
<p align="justify"><span style="font-family: 'Times New Roman';"> His Hobbies are horse riding, reading and travelling. He assumed office as a second citizen of Yobe State, that is: the Deputy Governor on the 19<sup>th</sup> of May 1999. He again elected for the second time with his dynamic governor with landslide victory in 2003.</span></p>
<p align="justify"><span style="font-family: 'Times New Roman';"> He is a denoted Muslim, married with children.</span></p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><span style="font-family: 'Times New Roman'; font-size: medium;"> <strong><span style="text-decoration: underline;">BIO-DATA OF HIS EXCELLENCE ALHAJI (DR.) BUKAR ABBA IBRAHIM, (FNIQS) THE EXECUTIVE GOVERNOR OF YOBE STATE OF NIGERIA.</span></strong></span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: 'Times New Roman'; font-size: medium;"> The Executive Governor of Yobe State, His Excellency, Alhaji Bukar Abba Ibrahim, Fellow of Nigeria Institute of Quantity Surveyors (FNIQS), was born in October, 1950 in Goniri of Gujba Local Government Area of Yobe State.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: 'Times New Roman'; font-size: medium;"> He started his early education at Goniri Central Primary School in 1956 and proceeded to Government College Maiduguri in 1965. After his excellent result in West African school Certificate Examination in 1970, he was admitted into preliminary science course of the Ahmadu Bello University from 1972 to 1975 where he obtained his bachelor of science degree in Quantity Surveying.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: 'Times New Roman'; font-size: medium;">Thereafter, he undertook his postgraduate professional training in the United Kingdom from 1981 to 1982 leading to qualification as associate member of the Nigeria Institute of Quantity Surveyors.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: 'Times New Roman'; font-size: medium;">A very active and pragmatic civil servant who after gaining a lot of experience in the civil service metamorphosed into a very active politician of enviable reputation.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: 'Times New Roman'; font-size: medium;">In the civil service, he rose from Pupil Quantity Surveyor to Town Engineer to Commissioner of Works in the former Borno State Government Between 1985 to 1988.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: 'Times New Roman'; font-size: medium;">Upon the creation of Yobe State in 1991, he contested and won the election under the SDP as the first Executive Governor of Yobe State and sworn in 1992. He was the Governor up to November 1993, when the military again interrupted.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: 'Times New Roman'; font-size: medium;">Meanwhile, he held various top positions in the party hierarchy from SDP to UNCP to APP where he contested again for the Governorship seat and become for the second time the Executive Governor of Yobe State and was sworn-in on the 29<sup>th</sup> of May, 1999. At the end of his four year term, he re-contested and won for the third time with landslide victory and has gone less than a year into the tenure. Alhaji Bukar Abba Ibrahim is a partner in Konti-Sab Associates. His hobbies are playing Hockey, Badminton and Football. He is married with children.</span></p>

<p><span style="font-family: 'Times New Roman';">The legislative Arm of Government is vested with the primary function of making laws to promote and enhance the socio-economic and political development as well as ensuring peace and stability within geo-political configuration of the state. The Clerk of House is the Administrative Head and Chief Adviser to the Honourable Speaker. The Yobe State House of Assembly was inaugurated on 8<sup>th </sup>June, 1999, following the receipt of the letter of proclamation from the State Governor Alhaji Bukar Abba Ibrahim (FNIQS). There are twenty-four (24) members in the House, out of which the All Nigeria People Party (ANPP) controls the House with twenty two (22) members, while People Democratic Party (PDP) has two (2) members. Presently there are five (5) Special and twenty-four (24) Standing committees in </span>house.</p>

<p><span style="font-family: 'Times New Roman';">The judicial Arm of Government is primarily charged with the responsibility of justice. It is headed by the Chief Judge who is also the chairman of the state Judicial Service commission, a body responsible for the appointment, promotion, and discipline of judicial officers. This Arm of Government carries out its responsibility of dispensation of justice through the High Courts, Sharia and Area Courts spread all over the state in order to bring justice to the doorstep of the common man.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: 'Times New Roman';">The state Chief Judge is Honourable Justice Baba Saje Gujba and Chief Registrar of the High Court is BarristerUmar A. Kachalla. The state Grand Khadi is Honourable Kadi Mohammed Saleh Abubakar while the Chief Registrar of Sharia Court is Barrister Mohammed Jankoli.</span></p>
