The Deputy Governor

His Excellency the Deputy Governor of Yobe States, Alhaji Aliyu Saleh Bagare, the Turaki of Tikau, was born in Kaduwa village of Nangere Local Government Area of Yobe State, on 15th September 1952.
He attended St. Paul’s Primary School Potiskum from 1966 to 1972. He proceeded to Government Teacher’s College Potiskum from 1973 to 1977 where he obtained Grade II Certificate. He also proceeded to Ahmadu Bello University Zaria from 1979 to 1981 for a Diploma course in Accounting.
He was a class teacher in Fika Local Government Education Department from January to May 1978. He joined the services of Bank as a Counter clerk from 1978 to 1979.
He was the Assistant Executive Officer Account in Borno State Government from August 1981 to March, 1982. He was also the Acting Bursar in the Borno State College of Legal and Islamic studies Maiduguri from April 1982 to May 1989. He was a Senior Accountant when Yobe State was created and deployed as Acting Chief Accountant.
He was the director of finance and supply in the Yobe state ministry of works, housing and transport. Damaturu before he retired from service of Yobe State government to join active politics in 1998.
Countries visited by His Excellency the Deputy Governor include: Saudi Arabia among others.
His Hobbies are horse riding, reading and travelling. He assumed office as a second citizen of Yobe State, that is: the Deputy Governor on the 19th of May 1999. He again elected for the second time with his dynamic governor with landslide victory in 2003.
He is a denoted Muslim, married with children.
